October Still Point Session: The Journey Home
Join us for an hour of listening to what's been calling your name
This month’s Still Point Session is an open invitation to pause, listen, and begin again.
We’ll sit together at that tender crossroads Mary Oliver names in The Journey, the moment you finally hear “a new voice, which you slowly recognize as your own.”
And from there, we’ll follow Derek Walcott’s luminous Love After Love, the call to greet yourself “arriving at your own door, in your own mirror,” and to “sit, feast on your life.”
These two poems remind us that “one day you finally knew” it was time to “love again the stranger who was yourself.” They invite us to notice what no longer serves so we can live fully, “with elation”.
During this session, we’ll allow the words of the poems to lead us into stillness, so we can access the inner wisdom that lies below the mind’s noisy chatter. Using my adapted form of Lectio Divina, I will guide you to come with beginner’s mind and listen deeply, to discern what is next on your journey.
There will be space to breathe, to feel, to write and to speak with me and other attendees, if you wish.
Because I want to hold this as a safe and gentle space, registration is required, even though it’s open to everyone this month. Once you register, you’ll receive the Zoom link.
